A few months back, I finally realize that even though I was taking care of my skin, I was not paying attention to one of the most delicate skin around my eye. I am only 23 years old but I have heard that it is always better to start taking care of your skin early on. I do not have visible wrinkles and fine lines so I can't give you meaningful feedback on the area. But my eyes do get puffy from time to time and I suffer from dark circles, especially after an all-nighter or those long days in front of a computer screen. I have only use two other eye creams before and they both had a cream-like texture. This one feels lighter and it has a very nice cooling effect when you apply on the skin. It leaves a wet finish and it is easy to apply.

LIKES:

• Light texture ( It looks creamy but it feels like a gel when you apply it)

• It comes in a color tinted bottle to preserve the product
• It also comes with a pump so it is more hygienic and practical 
• You only need a small amount to saturate the area
• It does not leave a sticky or greasy residue
• My favorite part is that it nourishes the skin so well. The next morning I can feel and see the difference. Especially, during the winter time, this is amazing. 
• Also, I have notice that while it hydrates the skin, it also smooths out and softens the skin 
• It has a light citrus scent 
• It has a slight yellow color which helps to visually brighten the under eye area.
• I have sensible skin and it did not irritated my skin or my eyes

DISLIKES:

• While I like that fact that it comes with a pump, it is not the best at dispensing the product. Sometimes the pump gets air in it and the product squirts out randomly all over the place. You have to be careful not to press it to hard. It has a learning curve, so that you exert the right amount of force when you press the pump.
   
• It does not absorb into the skin as fast as I would hope but thankfully, it has not interfere with my skin care routine.
   
• So far, I have not experience any tightening of the skin but I have to remember that I have only been using it for a couple of days. I will have to finish the bottle to see real results.
   
• It reduces the puffiness but it is not a miracle worker, but as I just said, I have to wait and see for a little longer.

   
 

Since I used to for the first time, I notice that it was a very unique formula and product which I enjoyed using. I like the texture and its moisturizing properties. Also, It love the cooling and soothing sensation. It is very refreshing.

This is the second book I read about business opportunities. However, unlike the previous book I review on this blog, this book contains valuable information about using new ways to not only earn extra revenue( increase your revenue) but also for ways to improve your business using the internet. Once I establish my business, I understand that it is important to consider new ways to increase my earnings and at the same time increase my customer base. This book covers this need in great detail.


It claims to provide important insights about different web-based opportunities to increase your income, promote you business and enhance your brand recognition. It contains seven chapters discussing different areas of profitability potential for yourself and your business. I decided to share some of my thoughts and/observations about some of the chapters.



Chapter 1: Blogging*


I have a blog, so I thought I understood the importance of it and the potential. However, as I was reading this chapter, I thought, "wow! How did I not make the connection? Why didn't I think of that?". It really explains a blog can increase the visibility of your business even if you have a professional website for your business. This is a must read chapter, and one of my favorites.


Chapter 2: Freelance*


One of the main terms that I took from this chapter is "Cross Promotion". It explains how different freelance opportunities do not only can increase your earnings but also provide ways to promote your business.


Chapter 3: Selling and reselling*


This chapter builds on the idea of cross promotion and complementary strategies that can help you achieve additional income and brand recognition.




This are just a few chapters but I don't want to spoiled every insight included in the book for you. Other areas covered in the book include Online tutorials, Using Etsy, Fiverr and tutoring. I like the writing style and the organization of the book. While you get easily open the book at any chapter and read it individually with no particular order. I really liked that as I was reading each chapter the next would build on the previous and make reference to the general ideas and theme of the book. I made it easy to read and comprehend the material.


Another area to highlight is that I really appreciated that a couple of the chapter include a small section explaining and giving us tips about how to value our digital product. It is nice and helpful to know in which occasions it is acceptable to charge a certain amount for your service or product.


Overall, I am really pleased with the information provided and I am glad that I decided to read it. I learned about some new platforms to make money and new strategies about money making and promotion. Also, while the author mainly makes reference to the home building industry that ideas and strategies included in this chapter can be applied to other industries.

Ever since I fell in love with matcha green tea, I wanted to get a nice matcha tea bowl. I got the opportunity to review: MatchaDNA Handcrafted Matcha Bowl. It is a really nice handcrafted maths tea bowl.


This has been my to go bowl for matcha tea ever since I got it. I really like the quality and the design of the bowl. It makes whisking easy and comfortable. It is a nice size bowl and the shape and texture are pleasing to look and hold.


Aside from the functional design, it is a very beautiful bowl. It is handcraft so the little variations in the glaze and texture are really beautiful. It gives it character and makes it very unique.


I will try to get another. I got the white bowl and I will probably get the black one later. I am very impress and satisfied with it. I am so happy to know that it comes from Japan. 

One of my favorite product to try is curl creams and stylers because it is always great to improve your current curly routine. I have type 3b/c curls and it is shoulder length. My biggest concern with my hair is frizz. I am aware that as long as I give my hair enough hydration and use a smoothing and defining styler, my hair will look great.

I had the opportunity to try this Curl Defining Cream with Argan Oil from Arvazallia and I was excited for two reasons; it claims to define the hair and it contains Argan oil. We (Curly girls/guys) know how amazing organ oil is for our hair.

First Impression:

The first time I touch the texture of the cream I had high expectations because it has a very creamy and light texture but my first time using it was a big (Dare I say HUGE) disappointment. I follow the directions on the label, step by step. But my hair had no definition, and it was super frizzy. I even use a diffuser which I try to avoid using because heat is not so healthy for the hair.

AFTER A FEW CHANGES:

The directions tell you to use the cream on damp or towel dried hair. This was my first mistake. When I use it on damp hair, the cream did felt nice but my hair look dull and with no shape even after crutching it a bit. However, we I use it with drenched wet hair, the cream did not only smooth out my hair, hydrated it, added shine but also what do you know it actually allow for clumping; giving more shape and definition to my hair.

Lesson: Sometimes you don't have to follow the directions to get the best results.

TIP:

If you find that the cream is not working for you, try changing you current conditioner. I was not using a very moisturizing conditioner the first few times, I use it so my hair ended up being hard to style. When I changed to a more moisturizing conditioner, styling become easier.

Also, if you would like a less frizz and more find look, try applying the cream on small sections.

DISLIKES:

 

• The bottle design, I wish you could get more product at once since you really have to use a significant amount for optimal results.
• You really have to use a lot so I don't know how long the bottle will last.
• It does not have or gives much hold so I will advise you to use a bit of gel or mousse if you like to have hold.
• If you have tighter curls ( 3c and up), I don't think you will like this cream. At least not by itself. It could work as a additional styler but not on its own.

I am a creator of things. I find such a joy when I create something new and I love to share my creations. In the most recent years, due to the high popularity of DIYs and other crafty projects, sharing your love for creativity and crafting is easier. Also, new opportunities have been open in the business side of it. A little while back, I consider creating a side project for additional income. I just finished reading, Ian Leaf's Starting a HFC Business at Home, and although it is mainly focused on the High Fashion industry, a substantial amount of information can be apply to other industries. This is a quick read and it has been written in a matter that it provide you with the necessary insights to get you started and be able to visualize your business opportunities. I am very please with the writing style and overall organization of the book. The content is very easy to follow and understand.




The chapters ranged from the basics to more less talk about problems such as scams. More than being a guide that you need to follow, this book defines, explains and provides information that can help you prepare or deal with problems in the future. It is fair to say that it is not the only book you will need to start your at home business but it contains essential information that can give a strong foundation.





One of my favorite chapters include the city regulations, government taxation, and especially the last chapter on avoiding scams. This is a very important aspect of the fashion world that is unfortunately not going anywhere. Even small business can be negatively affected to it is something to consider as a business owner.




Overall, I found this book engaging and very informative. It allow me to visualize my business and highlighted many areas of the industry that I did not know. I will now be able to design my business with more confidence and also now that I have a better idea on about what I need to research next.

This is a electric and battery operated pencil sharpener. It is very compact and easy to operate.


I have use it on regular pencils from different brands and it worked great. It sharpens your pencil incredibly fast. I could of seconds and it is done. It has not broken or damage any of my pencils. I have use it with my colored pencils and it works perfectly fine. I was worry that it would not work that well with soft lead pencils but I had no trouble yet. The pencils are sharpen smoothly and deliver a sharp and even point.




The sharpener is compact but it also well designed to make sharpening an easy and no hassle task. It has a especial setup for battery operated settings and opposite to it has a shaving tray. I have emptied the tray a few times but I still struggle to open it and close it. I like that it makes it extra safe for young kids to use it but it is a bit annoying too. I hope that I get the handle of it as I continue to use it. This is one of my biggest complains so far. But I have to mention that it very easy to maintain and to clean. Another feature that needs to be highlighted is that the bottom was four small but sturdy slip grips. So that while you use it. It does not move around or damage your surface. I really appreciate it.




I really like that multiple power sources. It allows for more flexibility. It can be operated with 4 (AA) Batteries (Not included). It also comes with an AC plug-in and and USB cable included.



Another interesting feature of this sharpener is that it allows you to choose the levels of sharpness that you desire. You can select Blunt, Medium and Sharp. I like using the Blunt setting for my color pencils and it makes it for a more smooth strokes. Also, I really like that it sharpens to a tasteful level. It is nothing to extreme that would make it hard to use, create to hard strokes or that it would make it easy to break.



I was happy enough to get a electric pencil sharpener but now I get versatility, portability and sharpness options. Since I got it I have taken a space on my desk and I am not move it anytime soon. It is well made and the design is very smart. I have not experience any problem with it so far and I would recommend it to anyone with small children, for the office, or school and anyone who uses pencils.

I recently I was lucky again and Influenter.com selected me to receive the Fiesta VoxBox. Last time, I received the Fresca VoxBox, I got a sample of Not Your Mother's Clean Freak Purifying Shampoo and Conditioner. Well, this time I got a sample of their Beach Babe Moisturizing Shampoo and Conditioner (#NYMBeachBabe). If you read my previous review, then you know that I really liked their Clean Freak line especially the shampoo so once I ran out my shampoo, i went to the store to get me a full size but I was only able to get the Beach Babe Moisturizing shampoo. I read in the description of the bottle that it was infused with coconut oil so I thought if I liked the other one and this one claims to be moisturizing, it might work great on my curly hair. Well, I was wrong.

• In addition, it is biodegradable (meaning that it won't clog your pipes or your pores.

THOUGHTS:

While I had some experience with the shampoo prior to Influenster.com sent me a sample, I had not tried their conditioner and also the consistency has changed. I hated and still do, the texture of the shampoo since my first time I used it. Because it is thick and it takes a lot of squeezing and pressing to get the product out of the tube. I can't image how it is going to be when I am about to use it up. Also, since the formula is so thick you have to massage it in your hands prior to apply it because otherwise you will have more shampoo in some areas of your hair and little on others. However, as you massage it in it becomes like a regular shampoo. I know, some of you might be thinking, "relax, it does not seem like it should be that hard" but I am being honest, I really, really do not like the texture. One last comment on this topic, while comparing my full size and the sample I got from influenster, I noticed that the texture was different. I got the reformulated version and the one from influenster might be the older version and that is why it is more like the regular shampoo texture.




On the topic of being good for the hair, it does has good ingredients and it does not include harsh and damaging ingredients. So I like that aspect about it. As you know, I have curly hair and my hair tends to react best to gentle and mild cleansers that do not stripped my hair out of moisture. This is a nice shampoo but my hair does feel dry afterwards so I do not like that. I does do a nice job at cleaning my hair and adding shine.

THOUGHTS:

Since the shampoo leaves my hair thirsty for moisture, I hoped that conditioner would help me. It is a pretty decent conditioner. But I have to use a lot to bring back the life of my hair so it is not budget friendly. It does has slip and it makes detagling easy and it has a really nice smell like coconuts. I really like the smell so refreshing. The texture is almost like a light leave-in conditioner or a styling milk. So you can imaging that why you would feeling like you have to use a lot. It is not my favorite.





In this picture you can see the dryness of my hair afterwards, especially the hair close to my scalp.

WOULD I REPURCHASE IT?

The answer is no. The conditioner is alright but it is not amazing enough for me to buy three bottles per shampoo. It would be to expensive plus I would not be doing much for my hair. The shampoo is out of the question, I am so sad that they changed the formula. Perhaps it was for added hydration but it does not do that at all. I love the scent but individually or together, they do not bring new or better benefits for my hair. I would not recommend it to curly hair people.

THOUGHTS:

This shampoo worked really well for me and it made my hair super soft and clean with stripping my hair of its natural oils. Along with the conditioner and got a great result. PLUS no harsh chemicals and amazing smell. It is pretty obvious that I love this shampoo. However, with that said, this is not a shampoo for everyone. It does not have harsh cleaning agents so if you are the type of person who likes squeaky clean hair or that usually suffers from product buildup, this might not be for you.

The reason I love this shampoo (in addition to the previous mentioned reasons :D) is that it is the perfect middle ground product between the harsh traditional shampoo and the no-poo options. It does not have any sulfate, silicone, parabens or dyes. For these reasons, it cleans my hair without irritating my scalp or over drying my hair. Also, I really like the fact that it is not only a great product for our hair but also not tested on animals and it is environmentally friendly. Highly recommend!

THOUGHTS:

I love the scent of the conditioner as much as I love the scent of the shampoo. It also has amazing ingredients that condition and protect the hair. It is a pleasant experience to use both the shampoo and conditioner every morning as it provides a burst of energy and wakes me up. In addition to the Mint and raspberry extracts and conditioning agents, this conditioner contains quinoa which is known to nourish the hair and protect the hair. This conditioner is very light (similar to a leave-in conditioner) but it provides enough amount of moisture. I provides great slip of you tend to brush or detangle your hair in the shower, this conditioner will allow to do it effortless.

WOULD I REPURCHASED?

Definitely! Especially the shampoo. I deep clean my scalp once or twice a month. So I do not have a problem with product built up. So this shampoo is perfect for me. As for the conditioner, it is great but I have cheaper alternatives that I tend to use more. But I highly recommend both.

THOUGHTS:

The No. 1 (aka my favorite) blend has a very sweet and fresh floral and fruity scent. The No. 2 blend is as describe a light and warm fragrance of roses. The No. 3 blend (aka my second favorite) is the strongest of the three. Although it is quite strong compare to the other two, and I don’t usually like strong scents, I quite enjoyed this one. The smell of magnolia and juniper is the first thing you smell, then you smell the sweet smell of blackberries. After testing them, my favorites are No. 3 and No. 2 individually and the combination of the two. Also, it is not the No. 2 does not smell good but after an allergic reaction to rose water, I pretty much do not respond well to anything that has a rose scent. Not that it smells like rose water.


I am quite sensitive scents and tend to have terrible migraines but with this JAFRA blends I did not have any problem. The scents are lovely and sweet but subtle enough to be worn by anyone for any occasion. These scents are perfect for the spring and summer time as they are more in the floral and sweet side. I have received many compliments while wearing them.
